Steven Kirkpatrick: Goaltender who made a one-game, nine-second appearance for the Ice in the 2000-01 season finale, making one save against future Ice player Chris George. Kirkpatrick suffered from muscular dystrophy and is the only player to play in a minor-league game in a wheelchair. Gordie and Colleen Howe befriended Kirkpatrick and accompanied him to Indianapolis for his game. A native of Sandusky, Mich., he was born in 1978. He passed away in 2001 at age 22, five months after his appearance in Indianapolis.

Michael Findorff: Ice defenseman in their inaugural 2004-05 USHL season. He had two goals, eight assists and 137 penalty minutes in 54 games. He also suited up in three playoff games. He went from the Ice to a four-year career at Miami University. A native of Colorado Springs, Colo., he is 33.
