The Rockford IceHogs have made a handful of transactions and the Chicago Blackhawks made one that impacted an Indy Fuel player Monday.
The Blackhawks declined to exercise their option on forward Kenton Helgesen, making him an unrestricted free agent. Helgesen was acquired from the Anaheim Ducks at the NHL trade deadline. Mac Carruth, another Fuel alum who played the past season in Rockford, is also an unrestricted free agent.
The IceHogs have resigned Robin Press, who played 30 games for the Fuel last season. They also have signed defenseman Darren Raddysh from the OHL’s Erie Otters. Raddysh had 81 points in 62 games last season. A third IceHogs signing, William Pelletier, had seven points in eight games for Rockford after finishing his college career at Div. III Norwich.
The Fuel will announce their first player signing Tuesday.
