Fuel, players make offseason moves

Brady Ramsay, who played 42 games for the Indy Fuel in 2016-17, has signed with the Sheffield Steelers of the Elite Ice Hockey League in Great Britain. Ramsay was in his third full pro season in 2016-17, and had 11 points for the Fuel before leaving the team late in the season.

The league’s Future Considerations trade deadline was earlier this week. The Fuel traded Cason Hohmann to Norfolk to complete a deal for Adam Phillips. Hohmann had four points in six games for the Fuel. The team also traded Phillips to the Orlando Solar Bears to complete a deal for Brock Montgomery. A third-year pro, Phillips had 14 points in 30 games from the Fuel blueline.

Today is the ECHL’s end-of-season roster deadline, in which teams can submit their 20-man end-of-year rosters. On Friday, the 2017-18 ECHL calendar begins and teams may begin signing players. The next major deadline is June 30, when teams must submit their lists of up to eight players to whom they have made qualifying offers. The Fuel will retain the rights of non-veterans who receive such offers for a year.
