Kelly Davis: Checkers defenseman from 1979-84. He played 285 games for the Checkers, with 13 goals and 63 assists, as well as 333 penalty minutes. He also played 37 playoff games with the Checkers, with seven goals and eight assists. He had four points in the 1982 Adams Cup run, and six in the 1983 repeat run. Picked in the sixth round of the 1978 NHL Draft by the Islanders, Davis played 18 games for the WHA Cincinnati Stingers as a professional rookie in 1978-79, the league’s final year. He retired after his stint with the Checkers. A native of Grand Prairie, Alberta, he is 58.
