Ficorelli becomes Voice of the Fuel

The Indy Fuel announced Thursday that broadcasting legend Terry Ficorelli has been named the team’s new Director of Media Relations, and will handle the team’s broadcasts on WXNT-1430 and COZI-13.2.

Ficorelli comes to the Fuel with more than 30 years of broadcast experience, including coming to Indy as a visiting broadcaster with the International Hockey League’s Cincinnati Cyclones in the 1990s. He was the voice of the Muskegon Fury and Lumberjacks in the United Hockey League – which re-named itself to become the second iteration of the IHL – from 1995-2010, and then spent six years in Evansville, both with the ECHL’s IceMen and the Evansville Thunderbolts of the junior NA3HL.

He was the UHL’s Broadcaster of the Year and Public Relations Director of the Year twice each.

WXNT-1430 or its website will again broadcast all 72 regular season games. Friday and Saturday home games will also be televised on COZI-13.2, WTHR’s digital subchannel.
