Fuel weekly preview: Feb. 17-20

The Indy Fuel are halfway through their longest roadtrip of the year – a six-game swing that hits two cities and two opponents. The first half saw three solid performances, but three one-goal losses to the league-leading Missouri Mavericks. The second half sees a three-game trip to Orlando with games Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, before the Fuel return home for a brief stopover next Tuesday to face the same Missouri squad they faced thrice last weekend.

Roster moves: Nick Mattson was assigned to the Fuel over the weekend, then called back up to Rockford. On Tuesday, Rockford assigned D Sam Jardine to Indy. Also, veteran Josh Brittain was returned to the team by Tulsa, which voided his trade last week. The trade, which brought Brandon Wong and Trevor Campbell to Indy, becomes a future considerations transaction. Brittain was placed on the Fuel’s 21-day IR, his second IR stint this season.

Looking ahead: The Fuel make a brief stop at home on Feb. 23 to face Missouri, then head to Ohio for games Feb. 27 at Cincinnati and Feb. 28 at Toledo.
