Fuel returning to radio, TV

The Indy Fuel announced Tuesday they have renewed their partnerships with their radio and television flagship stations, and will have an expanded media presence in the 2015-16 season.

The Fuel’s home games will again be televised by HTSN-6.2, with select games on WRTV-6. Longtime Indianapolis hockey broadcaster Jim Mirabello will handle the play-by-play duties on television again. He will be joined by former Checkers and Ice defenseman Mike Berger in the booth.

Also, all 72 games will be broadcast on CBS Sports 1430 AM, and streamed live via the station on the TuneIn app. Former Nashville Predators play-by-play announcer Tom Callahan will be the new Voice of the Fuel on radio.

In addition to the live game coverage, the Fuel will have two weekly shows on CBS Sports 1430 – “Indy Fuel Live” at 6 p.m. on Tuesday nights, featuring coach Scott Hillman and Fuel players. On Sunday mornings, tune in for “Indy Fuel Weekly” at 10 a.m., with the Fuel’s broadcasters and IndyPuck.com editor Andrew Smith providing insight to wrap up each Fuel week.

IndyPuck.com will also have an increased presence covering the Fuel. In addition to in-depth recaps of all Fuel games, we’ll have more stories to give Fuel fans full coverage of their favorite team.

The 2015-16 regular season begins Oct. 16, when the Fuel host the Toledo Walleye at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum at 7 p.m. The Fuel will also host a public exhibition game on “Fuel Family Fun Day” on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Editor’s note: This was edited to add Tom Callahan as radio broadcaster. He was announced as the team’s broadcaster Friday, Sept. 25.
