Indy Fuel defenseman Nick Bruneteau was named an alternate to the 2015 ECHL All-Star Game in Orlando, Fla.
Bruneteau has had a solid start to the season, with two goals and 14 assists for the Fuel. He is the team’s top-scoring defenseman and also leads the team in assists. Bruneteau is also one of the team’s top shot-blockers.
Bruneteau is a rookie from the University of Vermont. He is a native of Omaha, Nebraska, and is the fourth Bruneteau to play in Indianapolis. His older brother Brett played for the Indiana Ice. His grandfather Ed Bruneteau and great-uncle Modere Bruneteau played for the Indianapolis Capitals.
The All-Star Game is Jan. 21 in Orlando. The ECHL All-Stars will face the Orlando Solar Bears in the contest.
