Don Perkins: Defenseman for the Checkers in 1986-87 and the Ice in 1988-89. He played 51 games between the two teams, with two goals and 15 assists. He played the interim season — in which the Checkers/Ice franchise was dormant — for the Fort Wayne Komets and AAHL’s Virginia Lancers. The former Ohio State Buckeye retired after the 1988-89 season. Perkins has remained in Indianapolis upon retirement as a player and has coached the Brebeuf high school hockey team. A native of Whitby, Ont., he is 51.

Mario Doyon: Defenseman for the Ice in 1989-90 in the IHL, and again in the CHL in 2003-04. Doyon had 34 points in 66 games in his first stint, and a 24-goal, 54-point season in 63 games in his last. In total, he played 129 games for the Ice, with 33 goals and 56 assists. The Blackhawks’ sixth-round pick in 1986, Doyon turned pro in 1988, and played seven games for Chicago in 1988-89. He would be traded to the Quebec Nordiques during the 1989-90 season, and play 28 NHL games for the two teams through 1991. He would be a fixture in the AHL & IHL until going to Europe in 1997. He returned from six seasons in Switzerland and Germany to play for the Ice in 2003-04, and retired after playing one game for Corpus Christi in the CHL the following season. He has remained in Indianapolis and coached Indiana Junior Ice teams, as well as worked as a Realtor. A native of Quebec City, he is 46.

Craig Mills: Right wing for the Indianapolis Ice from 1996-99. He played 134 games for the Ice, with 22 goals and 21 assists, as well as 332 penalty minutes. He also had a goal in 15 postseason games with the Ice. Mills came to the Ice as a professional rookie, being traded to the Blackhawks by the Coyotes — who drafted him in the fifth round of the 1994 NHL Draft when they were the Winnipeg Jets — in 1996. He played 27 games for the Blackhawks, tallying five assists, and four for the Jets after turning pro. Mills played in the AHL through 2003, and in Europe for the next three seasons. He is currently in the financial services industry. A native of Toronto, he is 38.

Pat Leahy: Ice forward for three games in 2001-02. He had an assist in his tenure. He played eight total pro games — also playing five UHL contests in 2000-01 — after graduating from Div. III Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. A native of Canton, Mass., he is 38.

Eddie Del Grosso: Ice forward from 2004-06. In 114 games, he had 34 goals and 51 assists for the team, and also had a goal and six assists in eight playoff games. He went from the Ice to a four-year career at Nebraska-Omaha, where he had 109 points in 159 games. He has played professionally in the AHL, Finland and the ECHL, and spent the last season as a member of the ECHL’s Las Vegas Wranglers. A native of Las Vegas, he is 29.

Peter Hand: Defenseman for the Ice from 2011-13. He played 50 games for the team, with three goals, 12 assists and 116 penalty minutes. He was dealt to the USHL’s Sioux Falls Stampede partway through the 2012-13 season, and also played this past season for Sioux Falls. A native of Schenectady, NY, he is 21.
